iPhone & iPad setup guide.

Set up your own playlist on an iPhone or iPad, then check how playback behaves on Wi-Fi before relying on a mobile connection or casting.

Television and personal devices ready for a viewing setup

Before you begin

  • Your iOS or iPadOS version and enough device storage.
  • A supported App Store player, with its publisher and privacy information checked.
  • Confirmed access and a Wi-Fi connection for the first test.
  1. Choose the right App Store listing

Search the App Store and check the developer, operating-system requirement and supported formats. Similar app names do not mean the same publisher. Read the purchase information; Get can still lead to optional in-app purchases or a separate app subscription.

  2. Prepare your connection privately

Keep your access reply available so you can copy values accurately. Treat a private playlist URL like a password. Do not paste it into an online link checker, search engine or support message, because the URL may contain the credentials.

  3. Import the supported source

Open the player’s add-playlist or account flow and choose the method matching your access. Enter the full playlist URL where requested, or the separate server and login fields if supported. Give the connection a simple name and wait for its import to finish.

  4. Check sound, orientation and data

Test a stream on Wi-Fi, rotate the device and check sound and subtitles. Before watching on a mobile network, consider your data allowance and roaming charges. Longer viewing sessions can also increase battery use and device temperature.

  5. Test optional features separately

Picture-in-picture, AirPlay, downloads and casting depend on the player, source and permissions. Check the publisher’s documentation and try the exact feature you need. Close the stream before starting another device if your account has one connection.

If something does not work

The app needs a newer iOS version
Check whether your device supports an official update or choose a compatible player. Avoid untrusted configuration profiles.
Wi-Fi works but mobile data does not
Check app cellular permissions, data allowance and network conditions. Test one stream and record the error.
AirPlay is missing
Look for explicit support in the player; a video playing on the phone is not proof of AirPlay compatibility.
