Before you begin
- Your LG model and webOS version.
- An internet connection, available storage and an LG account if requested.
- A player offered in your TV’s store and confirmed viewing access.
Open your TV’s application catalogue
Press Home and open Apps or LG Content Store, depending on your webOS version. Use its search to find the player. Check that your LG services country matches where you use the TV. A phone app with the same name is not proof that a webOS version exists.
Check the app before installing
Read its publisher, platform support, connection options and purchase conditions. Install the compatible version through the TV store. If installation fails, check free storage and whether you are signed in before repeatedly trying the same download.
Connect the source in the right place
Open the player and select its documented playlist or account flow. Some apps use a publisher-hosted playlist manager and a device ID shown on the TV. Use that exact ID only in the official flow; the TV’s network MAC address is not always the identifier the app expects.
Check playback and available tracks
After the list refreshes, try several available streams. Check sound output with your actual TV speakers or soundbar and inspect subtitle options. Track selection and supported codecs depend on the source, the player and the TV; not every player feature is available on every webOS generation.
Keep the working setup recoverable
Make a private note of the player name, version and connection method. Keep access details in a secure place before reinstalling an app, because local favourites or connection settings may be lost. For support, describe the model and error without sharing the credentials themselves.
If something does not work
- Download will not complete
- Check the LG account, storage, network and services-country setting. Follow LG’s support instructions for your webOS version.
- Picture works but audio does not
- Try an available alternative audio track and check soundbar/output settings. Note whether the issue affects every stream.
- Playlist manager says the ID is unknown
- Reopen the player and compare its displayed ID carefully. Do not substitute the router or television network address.
