Before you begin
- The exact MAG model, firmware and permission to change its current configuration.
- A compatible portal URL explicitly supplied for your device.
- Provider confirmation of any required device registration.
Check model and firmware compatibility
Find your model and software version in the device information. Ask whether the intended portal supports them. If this is a managed or operator-supplied box, establish whether you are allowed to change its source; a missing settings menu may be intentional.
Prepare the device registration
If the service requires a registered identifier, confirm the correct identifier and the approved channel for sharing it. A registration is not the same as an M3U username/password login. Do not copy another box’s identity or enter details found in a public tutorial.
Enter the supplied portal
For the documented Linux/WebKit workflow, use the embedded portal’s System settings, then Servers and Portals. Enter a descriptive portal name and the exact provided address. Keep an existing working configuration recorded privately before changing it.
Save and reload the portal
Save the settings and use the device’s portal-loading or restart-portal action. Wait for the portal to respond. If it fails, check the network connection and active registration before changing DNS, firmware or other unrelated settings.
Test the service on this box
Try channel navigation, picture, sound and the schedule if provided. Note whether the embedded portal is reachable and whether the error happens before or after service loading. Supply the model, firmware, time and redacted error to support so the device and account can be checked separately.
If something does not work
- Servers or Portals is missing
- Operator-customised firmware may restrict these menus. Ask the device operator instead of attempting to bypass the restriction.
- Portal loads but access is denied
- Confirm the portal URL, active access and registered device with the team.
- The new box behaves differently
- Check firmware and portal-version compatibility. Do not assume the same method works across all MAG generations.
